The College of Fine Arts and Design is a center of excellence for the arts and design, as well as a center of innovation for improving and promoting arts education. Founded in 2001, the college combines the experience of Oklahoma's oldest public educational institution with groundbreaking thinking about the role of the arts on the 21st century. Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students. Lecturer faculty perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the Lecturer faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
Teach an Applied Jazz Instrument in individual and/or group settings as needed.
Teach Jazz and Commercial Music Arranging and Composition.
Teach Jazz Improvisation in individual applied and/or a group setting as needed.
Teach Music Technology-related course work, including Recording Studio Production Techniques.
Direct a large jazz ensemble and/or jazz combo as needed.
Perform with Faculty Ensembles as needed.
Pursue Scholarly and Creative Activities as desired.
Service to the Jazz Division includes upkeep and maintenance of software, hardware and technology-related equipment in the Jazz Lab Recording Studios.
An earned Master's degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
A doctorate or terminal degree in a related music field.
College-level teaching experience.
Finale Music Notation Software.
Pro Tools certification or demonstrated experience with Pro Tools DAW Software for MIDI and Audio Recording Production.
Ability to teach and perform Jazz Guitar at a professional level.
Ability to direct large jazz ensembles and jazz combos.
Ability to teach Music Technology-related course work including Audio Recording Principals/Microphones/Signal Flow/etc...
Ability to teach Jazz and Commercial Music Arranging and Composition.
Ability to supervise formal academic research papers.
Ability to supervise all aspects of tracking, editing, and mixing capstone CD-Album projects
