Note: Adjunct positions at UCO are part-time teaching positions. This posting may or may not result in the hiring of adjuncts. Adjunct faculty members provide quality learning experience for students and support the educational philosophy, mission, and long-term goals of the University of Central Oklahoma, the College of Liberal Arts, and the hiring department. Adjunct faculty members teach classes, advise and mentor students, evaluate student performance, and maintain student records in accordance with university policies. Adjunct faculty members work in a collaborative manner with full- and part-time colleagues and adhere to all of the policies and procedures outlined in the UCO Faculty and Employee Handbooks.

Possesses at least a master's degree in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
The minimum qualifications are a master's degree in Sociology, with degrees in related fields considered if there is experience teaching in the discipline as listed on the resume/vitae.
Teach one or more sections of selected courses in the Department, depending on the qualifications of the applicant and their discipline area, as listed in the qualifications section.
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
