    The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA). UCO's College of Education and Professional Studies has an enrollment of nearly 4,800 students, about one-fourth of whom are graduate students.     Position Overview

    Temporary Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students. Performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the Lecturer faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. Teaching and departmental responsibilities expected.

    Department Specific Essential Job Functions

    This position is for a temporary non-tenure track Lecturer of Health and Exercise Science in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies. Candidates should possess experience teaching at a higher education level in Health or Kinesiology.

    Qualifications/Experience Required

    An earned Master's degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

    Qualifications/Experience Preferred

    Master's degree is required in an area of Health, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field of study from an accredited institution. Preference will be given to higher education experience.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the instruction of 27 semester hours annually. The main responsibility will be teaching our core Health class. (Healthy Life Skills)

    Physical Demands

    Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
