The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA). Teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the tenure and promotion policy in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook. Faculty are expected to support & facilitate the department/school/college academic and university missions, visions, & long-term goals. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.
Teaching load is 12 hours per each fall and spring semester.
The department offers courses in traditional as well as online, accelerated formats.
Classes that will be taught are in the areas of Organizational Leadership and Adult Education and related areas.
Some courses may need to be updated and redesigned for online delivery.
Demonstrate commitment to professional development, scholarly inquiry, service and excellence in teaching.
Collaborate on intradepartmental programs and initiatives and communicate productively with other faculty members.
Serve on department, college, and university committees.
Teaching, research, departmental/school and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval).
NOTE: If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to TT-Instructor.
Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, Organizational Psychology, or Adult and Higher Education, or other related fields.
Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Extensive experience in online learning delivery and design. Evidence of teaching effectiveness/excellence.
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
