UCO Design seeks dynamic and motivated candidates with a high level of creative industry, social engagement, and a commitment to department participation whose practice and teaching experiences encompass the following at the undergraduate and graduate level:- Design drawing- Interior Design Foundations- Introduction to Interior Design- Computer Aided Drafting - Experience with Design Competitions- Experience with Design Studios- Research interest in conceptual development and integrating hand skills into design development The ability to teach design drawing with a focus on constructed forms (consistent with the design of objects/forms/characters that do not yet exist) as opposed to direct observational drawing skills (traditional still life drawing) would also be valued. Teach an Applied Jazz Instrument in individual and/or group settings as needed.Teach Jazz and Commercial Music Arranging and Composition.Teach Jazz Improvisation in individual applied and/or a group setting as needed. Teach Music Technology-related course work, including Recording Studio Production Techniques.Direct a large jazz ensemble and/or jazz combo as needed.Perform with Faculty Ensembles as needed.Pursue Scholarly and Creative Activities as desired. The Biology Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education through transformative learning and research. The department is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biology who is committed to excellence in teaching and collaborative student-centered research. Areas of teaching responsibility may include Biology for Majors: Diversity, Vertebrate Zoology, Animal Behavior, or other courses depending on the candidate’s expertise and departmental need. Research interests may include any area within vertebrate biology, with preference given to those with a research interest in fisheries biology. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with an interest in curating the ichthyology collection. We are seeking a candidate who will be committed to excellence in teaching, and will establish a productive research program involving undergraduates and Masters-level students, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and serve as a thesis advisor for graduate students. The Department of Art invites applications for a Full-Time Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor position in Jewelry and Metalsmithing beginning August 2019. This position includes academic, artistic, and service responsibilities in an art program offering a B.F.A. in Studio Art with emphases in ceramics, drawing, jewelry and metalsmithing, new media, painting, and sculpture, B.A.Ed. in Art Education, B.A. in Global Art and Visual Culture and B.A. Arts Administration. The metals studio is fully equipped for teaching fabrication, casting, and forging. Students have an array of steel anvils, stakes and hammers for metal forming techniques, individual jeweler’s benches, Durston combination rolling mill, wire mill and guillotine bench shears, Beverly Shears, Bonny Doon hydraulic press, Neycraft centrifugal casting machine, burnout kiln, and 3 Vcella enameling kilns available to them. The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following: · Teach a 12-hour load each semester, including undergraduate courses in jewelry for non-majors, beginning to advanced levels in jewelry and metalsmithing, and art foundation courses as needed· Provide a comprehensive program of materials and techniques in fabrication, casting, and metal forming· Incorporate the history of jewelry and metalsmithing into the curriculum· Challenge students with art and design concepts, issues and theories in contemporary craft, art, and design· Engage students in creative activities and scholarly research· Develop curriculum for all levels in jewelry and metalsmithing· Manage classroom facilities· Maintain a rigorous and active creative and scholarly exhibition record at the local regional, national and/or international levels· Participate in professional activities· Actively participate in department, college, and university affairs

Will be expected to teach a 4:4 load at all levels of the graduate and undergraduate curriculum. The courses will include graduate and upper-level in the field of specialization as well as the U.S. history survey course to 1877 and historical research. Building on the strong student-oriented tradition of Native American course offerings in the department, the successful candidate will be encouraged to develop interdisciplinary courses and collaborations with other programs on campus. The Department of Information Systems and Operations management at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a tenure-track position in Management Information Systems at the Assistant level, beginning in August 2019.
